Current Maine Cannabis Laws …

Recently, Paul was interviewed by Fox Bangor about the Maine adult use program.

We thought it would be a good time to explain a few things about questions we receive and give you some links to further information regarding the laws as they stand now.

It is currently illegal for us (or any individual/store) to sell to anyone without a valid medical card. Adult use sales will likely begin sometime this Spring. There are several bills that will be seen by the Maine State Legislature this season that will also decide additional rules etc.

As the current law stands, co-location is not permitted. This means that you cannot have medical and adult use sales at the same location. We hope this law will change; however, we will do whatever we can to make sure our patients still have access (so, please continue to renew your medical cards).

McCarrier is one of the several people who has started the application process.

In the meantime, he said he wants to see some changes to the statute “to allow co-location of medical and adult use retail stores. The importance of that is we’re not going to leave our patients high and dry.”
