Today is the work session regarding, LD 2099, “An Act To Amend Provisions of the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana Act.”

We are happy to report that the ban on ethanol extraction has been removed.

*The full bill was voted on by the committee as Ought to Pass as Amended 7-3. Other things removed were the fines and seedling size will remain the same.

Compromise was reached on the following: labeling (though specifics are unclear at this point), municipalities will have a clarification of regulatory authority, fees for caregiver square footage of canopy space, and caregiver retail stores will pay an additionally licensing fee.
